Larry Page

Larry Page was born on 26 March 1973 in Lansing, Michigan. Larry Page's father was a professor of computer science at Michigan State and his mother, Gloria, also taught computer programming. The Page family home was full of first-generation personal computers and scientific magazines, and young Larry, as he was called, immersed himself in them. Significantly, his older brother, Carl Page, Jr., also became a successful Internet entrepreneur.
Larry Page and Sergey Brin are the founder of the search engine Google. Larry Page earned his B.S.E. in 1995 and then motivated on to graduate school at Stanford University. There he began to generate and evaluate his own catalogue of Internet links and was joined by Brin, a fellow Stanford grad student he met in 1995. Together they wrote the paper "The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hyper textual Web Search Engine" and created their own search engine, at first known as Backrub and then in 1998 officially integrated as Google. It was quickly extremely popular. Google became a public company in 2004, making Page and Brin billionaires at age 27. The company brought in Eric Schmidt as CEO in 2001, and he ran the company in a triumvirate with Page and Brin for the next successful decade as Google became the most-used search engine on the planet. During those years, Larry Page had the title of co-founder and president of products. Google announced in 2011 that Larry Page would take over as CEO of Google, with Schmidt becoming executive chairman.
Page married Lucinda Southworth at Richard Branson's Caribbean island, Necker Island in 2007. Southworth is a research scientist and sister of actress and model Carrie Southworth. He has one child.
Page is an energetic investor in alternative energy companies, such as Tesla Motors, which developed the Tesla Roadster, a 244-mile (393 km) range battery electric vehicle. He continues to be dedicated to renewable energy technology, and with the help of Google.org, Google's philanthropic arm, promotes the agreement of plug-in hybrid electric cars and other alternative energy investments.
